Shopping Tip – Fishing Sunglasses

by admin on December 22, 2009

Sunglasses are very stylish for every ages. But sunglasses has another advantage not just about trend and fashion. How can sunglasses be useful while you are fishing?
Fishing sunglasses often make the difference between caught fish and lost fish. The glare drastically reduces visibility when you watch the water surface with the naked eye: you will spot neither fish nor underwater structures. Moreover, without fishing sunglasses it will become almost impossible to watch the water surface; eye strain leads to weariness, not to mention that there is also the risk of getting more serious eye damage. Fishing sunglasses will eliminate the glare and block the harmful ultraviolet rays. Many fishermen prefer buying sunglasses for all weather conditions so that visibility remains great no matter the fishing whereabouts. Fishing sunglasses can also be rated according to the materials of which the lenses are made.

Glass is a good lens material because of durability and visual acuity, but it is considered too heavy by many users. Polycarbonate lenses are lightweight and have a good resistance range  to impact, but such fishing sunglasses can more easily deteriorate by scratching. A good word of advice here is to avoid fishing sunglasses with acrylic lenses because they can cause viewing distortions despite their anti-glare properties. As for lens color, fishing sunglasses are available in copper, brown, amber and gray.

There is no color distortion with gray lenses, and the light absorption rate is high. These fishing sunglasses go great for open water fishing on bright sunny days. Copper fishing sunglasses have a soothing impact on the eyes, they increase the visual abilities, working great for fishing that requires lots of sighting applications. Another top color for all forms of fishing is brown thanks to the high-quality true color perception and the unchanged contrast. You can use brown fishing sunglasses on more or less bright days in streams or on lakes alike, and you will be satisfied with the quality they provide.

When it is forecast or when you go fishing at dawn or at dusk, the best fishing sunglasses are those with amber lenses. Then, besides the lens color, you should also be careful with the anti-glare properties because the polarized coating is the only protection against reflected light. Plus, without polarized lenses, flat or bonefish will be impossible to catch. Last but not least, good sunglasses will also prevent wind and insects from entering your eyes, increasing the comfort and making fishing even more enjoyable.
