Here is how I test my hooks sharp:.
Grab the hook shank in one hand and gently placed the item on your thumbnail, do not force or pressure whatsoever. Now try to move the hook across your thumbnail, if the point of excavation in the hook, and is strong.
I also use this method for my pocket knife to test the sharpness.
Sharp hooks can make your fishing trip a success or failure. The great need not get away when you have a sharp hook.
